August 24th

Today I disconnected the carburetor from the air filter and began taking it apart. My objective was to remove all the horizontal pieces, cut them down 5/16th of an inch, because that is how much wider the carburetor is than the engine intake. Several of the pieces would need new holes to be drilled. others would just need to be refitted and secured to there adjacent pieces. I immediately encountered a problem. Several of the screws that needed to come out were frozen. no matter what I did, all I could seem to do what strip the metal. I could not afford to do this because these screws are unique and I would not be able to replace them.
