August 28th
Today I got a new tool to help with this problem. It is called an impact driver. You put the necessary bit in one end then put in on the screw then hold it while you hit the other end with a hammer. Rotates the bit about one eighth of a turn with up to 1200 foot pounds of torque. Needless to say, I got the bolts out easily. After about 20 minutes work, I had both sides of the carburetor completely separated. I put the horazontal pieces that I would need to cut with the hack saw in a jar for another day.
