Today I decided to clean the new engine with some oven cleaner. First I took of the rubber fittings on the intake, then filled the exhaust and intake with plastic bags. I washed it with normal water first to get rid of the obvious dirt and gunk. After it was dry, I sprayed on the oven cleaner then left it to burn away at the corrosion and rust for an hour or so. I then washed it off with the hose to reveal the clean (cleaner) engine. It didn't work perfectly, actually it was kind of disappointing. It still did help a little bit though.
