Today I began trying to take the head off the new engine. I soon found out that many things about this engine were different, even though it was a clearly another 400cc 4 stroke motorcycle engine from about the same year. It became clear at this point that the head from this engine would not be able to replace the old one. After searching the the model number on the internet I found out that it is an earlier model with several small changes including an electric start, with would be really cool if I could get it to work. I then proceeded to take off the block, the alternator, and the transmission, they are all in one unit. It is allot harder than it sounds because of the enormous weight, almost 200 pounds, the bad quality and the ample quality of the bolds and screw.
