August 2nd

Today I started taking off the head. In order to make enouph room for the head to lift off without running into the frame, the horn and the ignition coils have to come out. Several aluminum plates have to be removed to get to the large bolts connecting the head to the block. The connections to the intake and the exaust manifold also have to be removed (good thing I didn't connect the exaust pipes). I am not happy about having to do the because many of the screws and bolts are stripped and/or hard to get to. There are also alot of them, about 40 if I had to guess. The timing belt, or in this case, timing chain and its gears also have to be removed. I do my best to keep them in possition so I don't have to worry about screwing up the timing. I might have to do this anyway. I don't think I succeded in keeping the possition. I did get it out of the way which is the important thing for know.
